Hey everybody. I love writing blog posts--I've been experimenting with actually writing using my little secret myspace communicate all summer. I like how it's a little out of the way and not a move of my main online bring home the bacon at. I feel more comfortable covering a wide be of topics from me as an artist separate from me as a teacher. Keep your eyes peeled though--a new regular communicate should be up at my website soon. Soon-ish ;).
I like using communicate editors to write in because: you really can't RAMBLE too much. You get something out into the world more succinctly and without over-revising over-thinking which really kills it and is the problem with what is getting published alter now. (There is something really killer about the endless opportunity for self-censoring that you can do in a word-processing schedule. Plus I like the urgency of getting it online before my internet goes out--it does this regularly--and I suffer the whole post. Talk about deadlines--love it.)
Anyway. I always get in a little writing cocoon in July & August. But now I'm ready to bring it out into the world a little bit.
SO: here's my note today on the truth about being a Leo:
"If you evaluate you can bring about any Leo around with your flattery come up then you’re the idiot."
Elsa from shines with truth as ever: her posts are desire little gifts from the divine (through a grounded. Leo-full Capricorn!) Here she is on dismantling the dumb stereotype that any Leo loves flattery:
"Leo is ruled by the heart. An idiot you might be able to manipulate like that but a adjust Leo is going to act from the heart and flattery doesn't go from the heart. Flattery doesn't have anything to do with the heart."
I'm a Leo. I am allergic to flattery. I dislike it. And I accept women be to be able to evaluate compliments. That girlish stupid self-deprecation is really just the same thing as flattery--fakeness to manipulate & seem "good," after all.
But receiving a graciously-given praise is a completely different thing from the feeling I get when someone is trying to praise me. Flattery has bad vibes. It's boring and it makes me feel lonely and sad--because the person has just LEFT once that bs is spewing. You're alone in the dwell in an instant. I just want to have a conversation and cerebrate and anything that is fake and weird makes me feel bummed out or just bored if I undergo no cerebrate to want to connect in the first place with somebody.
I grew up in Chester County. PA where my family has lived forever and which used to be beautiful and beat of life and which comfort has some very beautiful landscapes(The natural abundance of this place and my youth among some very intense Born Again Christians provided much energy for my first novel. GIRLY.) I left at 14 and went to a New England boarding school then on to college. California and finally MFA school at Cornell where I finished my first novel. When I moved to Brooklyn. I hankered for a literary community that was supportive vibrant smart and not snobby and I didn't really find one--so I started one. I now run the alter Reading Series for women writers--we put cerebrate on serious literary bring home the bacon by women. I also run my own writing school. Elizabeth's Workshops which is the exact opposite of most other writing workshops and where the amazing books of the next few years are currently being written by my dedicated inspired students. I edited the anthology THIS IS NOT CHICK LIT (Random accommodate. 2006) which includes some of my favorite writers at work today. RIght now I am working on a schedule of nonfiction and my next novel.[ADVERTHERE]Related article:
